Sell your laptop, Mac, or device for cash
We are one of the only shops in town that buys laptops, desktops, iPhones, and iPads, working or broken. Bring it in for a free quote and walk out with cash, or trade up to a refurbished machine.
Turn your old tech into cash
We mostly buy Mac and PC laptops, and we take iPhones, iPads, and desktops when they come through the door. Older Macs in particular are in high demand, and we will quote them on the spot. If you are upgrading, downsizing, or just clearing out, bring in what you have.
Three steps to cash
Bring it in
Stop by 196 College St with your device. No appointment needed. Bring the charger if you have one; we get a better look at the laptop with it.
Get a free quote
We take a look, run a few quick checks, and give you a fair local offer, working or broken. Most quotes take a few minutes.
Cash or trade up
Take cash, or put it toward a refurbished laptop and we move your data for $60 with your purchase, half the standard $120. We wipe your old device securely either way.
Local, fair, and easy
What we look at
A few things move the number up or down. None of them require you to fix anything before you bring it in.
Make, model, year
Newer is usually worth more. MacBooks hold value better than most Windows laptops. A 2019 MacBook Pro is worth a lot more than a 2014 one in the same condition.
Cosmetic and functional
Light wear is normal. Cracked screens, dented cases, dead batteries, and missing keys all factor in, but they do not disqualify a device. We still want to look.
Specs
RAM, storage, and processor matter. A 512 GB SSD model is worth more than a 128 GB version of the same laptop. If you do not know the specs, just bring it in and we will check.
Charger and accessories
A working charger and clean case help a little. If you have the original box, even better. None of these are required.
Common questions
What devices do you buy?
Mostly Mac and PC laptops. We also buy desktops, and iPhones and iPads when they come in. Working or broken. Some monitors and Apple Watches too.
How much will I get?
It depends on the model and condition. As a guideline we pay up to $125 for PC laptops and up to $400 for Mac laptops, though we make exceptions for the right device. Offers are generally based on recent eBay sold prices, usually 30 to 60 percent of resale value, and we can pay more for machines headed to our store shelves. Bring it in for a firm quote, which takes a few minutes.
Do you wipe my data?
Yes, we wipe devices we buy securely. If you are trading up, we can move your data to your new laptop first and then wipe the old one.
Working or broken?
Both. If it is broken, in pieces, or water damaged, we may still be interested. Bring it in for a quote. Even a laptop that does not turn on has parts value.
Do I need to bring the charger?
Generally no. We keep most chargers on hand for testing. Bringing yours can help us confirm value on a device we are buying, and once in a while it helps with a repair, but it is not required.
Do you take desktops?
Yes. Working desktops with reasonable specs, all-in-ones, and Mac minis are all welcome. Older tower PCs are usually a lower offer, but bring it in.
What about phones or tablets?
We buy iPhones and iPads. Android phones and tablets we look at case by case, but most we do not buy.
Will I get cash on the spot?
Yes. If we agree on a price, you walk out with cash, or you can apply the offer toward a refurbished laptop.
