Making Technology More Accessible, Useful, and Sustainable
Every computer you donate, repair, or purchase helps keep useful technology in circulation, make reliable computers more affordable, and reduce electronic waste. Through responsible recycling, refurbished technology, and community partnerships, Computers for Change supports schools, nonprofits, and community organizations while helping make reliable computers more accessible.
How it works
We support schools, nonprofits, and community organizations whenever we can. Sometimes that means donating a refurbished computer. Other times, it’s repair assistance, technical support, or another form of help. The process is simple. Reach out and tell us about your organization and what you need. If it aligns with what we have available, we’ll work together to find the right solution.
Every donated computer helps make that possible. Some donated machines are refurbished and given directly to organizations. Others are refurbished and sold, with the proceeds helping fund future donations and community programs. Equipment that cannot be reused is recycled responsibly. Before any donated device leaves our shop, all personal data is securely removed.

Turning Point Center
9 Desktop Computers Donated
The Turning Point Center received nine desktop computers for clients working through recovery, helping them search for jobs, complete schoolwork, and reconnect with family.
DREAM mentoring
8 Refurbished Desktops
DREAM received eight refurbished desktop computers to replace aging equipment, helping the organization serve more young people throughout Vermont.
Rock Paper Scissors
A Community Grant
Through the community grant program, a local business owner received help repairing a MacBook, allowing the business to get back up and running without replacing the computer.
Beyond the shop
Every computer that stays in use is one less computer headed for the landfill. Repairing, refurbishing, and responsibly recycling technology has always been part of who we are—not just because it’s environmentally responsible, but because it helps make technology more affordable for the people who need it most.
When you buy a refurbished computer from us, donate an old device, or choose to repair instead of replace, you’re helping support the same mission.
Three ways to help
Donate a computer
Have a laptop or desktop you no longer use? Bring it to the shop. If it can be refurbished, we’ll either place it with an organization in need or use its value to support future community donations. If it has reached the end of its life, we’ll recycle it responsibly. All donated devices are securely wiped before being reused or recycled.
Tell us about an organization
