Many slow computers benefit from storage cleanup, startup optimization, additional memory, or an SSD upgrade. Older machines can often feel significantly faster after the right improvements.
Why Is My Laptop or PC Slow?
Virus and software fixes
We provide virus and malware cleanup, Windows and macOS reinstalls, software troubleshooting, and data transfers. We also offer software support for Microsoft Surface devices and other tablets, but we don’t repair tablet hardware.
Data backup is a paid service, so we recommend backing up important files before bringing your computer in whenever possible.

From Drop-Off to Pick-Up
You don’t need an appointment. Bring your computer to our College Street shop Tuesday through Saturday, and we’ll help determine the best next step. Many repairs are completed the same day or the next business day when the necessary parts are available. Repairs requiring additional testing or special-order parts may take longer, and we’ll let you know what to expect.
Drop Off Your Computer
Walk in Tuesday through Saturday—no appointment needed. If possible, bring your charger so we can properly test power and charging issues.
Get a Quick Look or In-Shop Diagnosis
If we can identify the problem while you’re at the counter—such as a cracked screen, worn battery, or obvious hardware issue—we’ll provide a free quote on the spot.
If we need to keep your computer for further diagnosis, we’ll contact you with our findings and repair quote before any work begins. If you decide not to proceed with the repair, a $50 bench fee applies for the diagnostic work performed.
Repair Your Device or Trade Up
If the repair makes sense, we’ll get your computer fixed. If it doesn’t, we may recommend applying your device’s trade-in value toward one of our refurbished computers instead.
Data transfer is available for $60 with the purchase of a refurbished computer (normally $120).
